The Residential Office for CM of Andhra Pradesh is a 2100 sq. ft. space located at House No. 1, Janpath, South Block, New Delhi, one of the most prestigious addresses in the city.
This dual-purpose space serves as both a residence and an office for the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, merging personal living with official duties.
The brief emphasized the CM's grounded nature and modern mindset, calling for an office that is formal yet not overly luxurious or “hotel-like.” The design needed to reflect the CM's public service approach, with a bright, uplifting atmosphere. The office consisted of four rooms: a security room, a VVIP waiting room, a VVIP dining room for visiting MLAs and MPs, and the CM's personal office.
The client also expressed the desire to incorporate cultural elements from Andhra Pradesh, including artwork and custom design features representing the state.
In response to the brief, we integrated paintings and artwork
showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh. Custom
design elements were introduced throughout the space, subtly
reflecting the state's identity in the architecture and
décor. For instance, patterns and motifs inspired by Andhra's
traditional art were incorporated into wall paneling and
furnishings, lending a personal touch to the design.
Given
the high-profile nature of the office, privacy was also a
priority. Strategic layouts ensured that sensitive meetings could
be conducted discreetly while maintaining a sense of openness. The
result is a space that balances formality, functionality, and
cultural pride—perfectly tailored to the CM's leadership and
vision.
We embraced a neo-classical theme across the office, using premium materials like veneers, PU paint moldings, and glass, which matched the stature of the office while maintaining an elegant yet understated aesthetic. Warm colors were chosen to create an inviting yet formal environment.
